Schmidt received the votes of four council members – John Duran, Jeff Prang, Sal Guarriello and Abbe Land.
“This is terrific news.” said California Director James Vaughn “So often diversity is limited to race and gender, but to embrace political diversity is important as well. I have the greatest respect for the members of the council who voted for Scott. We want to thank them, especially Mayor John Duran, for working with us to include Republicans in city leadership.” The Transportation Commission analyzes transportation, transit and parking issues and make policy recommendations to the City Council.
